Member Appreciation Day!

Thanks to everyone who made it out to the Body Buster Fitness Member Appreciation Day!

We had a blast with a wicked bootcamp workout, prizes, food and fun! Body Buster Instructors Dani and Kim led the class with a hardcore circuit style workout!

"I feel that I have gained strength and endurance that I have not had in many years."

I have been a Body Buster Fitness member for about a year and a half.  I joined in July 2012 to try something new, get fit and get outdoors.
The thing I like most about the Body Buster Program is the variety of exercises.  You know you are likely to do squats at some point but the rest changes all the time.  It keeps the workout interesting.
In the past year, I have lost 8 lbs.  The weight took a long time and wasn’t really the part I noticed. I have gone down one, almost two, clothing sizes.  I saw this result faster and it is the one that people around me have noticed and for which they congratulate me.
I have chosen to continue with Body Buster because it is the only thing that I actually keep coming back to.  It may sound kind of funny but I am always well intentioned in my fitness.  With other types of activities, I would always sign up and intend on attending.  But, I could always convince myself to go ‘tomorrow’.  With Body Buster, the instructors have encouraged me to set personal goals and work toward those goals each time I come.  I know that the people I have met at Body Buster will notice if I miss and I look forward to seeing them too.
Since beginning at Body Buster, I have noticed my overall health improve.  I see it in small things like being able to run back to my house for something I have forgotten and not feeling out of breath.  I feel stronger, both physically and mentally.
I feel that I have gained strength and endurance that I have not had in many years.  I have gained new friends who have similar fitness goals as I do.  And, I have gained something that I do each week just for me.
I would tell people who have not taken Body Buster before they need to come and try it.  Everyone needs physical activity and many of us need someone to help us to figure out what activity works best for us.  I would tell people not to be scared off by the assumption that this is a ‘boot camp’ program.  The instructors help you to determine the level that is right for you and will give you challenges or modifications depending on your ability and goals.  Finally, I would say to come and try out Body Buster Fitness because you become part of a group that supports each other.
My advice to everyone who is busy is that the predictability of the Body Buster Program allows you to fit it in to your schedule.  For me, it forces me to NOT schedule meetings or work or other events during that time – my time.  But, if you must attend an event, there is flexibility in the contracts to change the date of a class or two.  With all of this support, there are no excuses NOT to exercise.
One of the best things about Body Buster for me is the accountability.  If I miss a class, I know some one will notice.  This helps to motivate me.  When I feel like I am too tiered to go for my workout, I think about the other people in the group, the instructors, and my goals and it motivates me to go.  Once I get there, I am always glad that I came and kept working towards my fitness goals.  And, the reward at the end of a 7:30pm class is getting to go home, shower, eat something and go to bed!

Bootcamp Langley - Indoor Fitness Classes

Hello November! 

November seems to be categorized into one of those "blah" months. Through the holidays, we tend to put our fitness on the back burner and look forward to the New Year. It's during these times that it is so important to make a commitment to yourself, your health and fitness. Signing up for your Body Buster program early and making a long term commitment will keep you on track over the winter "blah" months. Body Buster Instructors hold their members accountable which is key to your overall success in the program. Think of how great you will feel  when you're right where you want to be in terms of health and fitness while others are just making their New Year's Resolutions!


At Body Buster, we are welcoming November with open arms! Indoor boot camp programs are back in full swing November 18th through to December. Although this is an Indoor Program, remember to layer up! Portions of class may be held outdoors only if weather/temperature permits.

Join Team Body Buster at the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure October 6, 2013!
Since 2008, Team Body Buster has proudly participated in the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure. Our team is comprised of Body Buster Fitness Instructors, Members and Family/Friends of all ages! In past year’s we’ve even had some four-legged friends on our team on run/walk day!

While there are many important charitable fundraising events tied to physical fitness, Body Buster Fitness has chosen to whole-heartedly back and encourage our members to join our team and participate in this event! We support the Run for the Cure for a multitude of reasons.  The first being that the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation uses the donations raised to continue funding groundbreaking research, education, awareness and advocacy initiatives. The Foundation seeks to emphasize the value of healthy living, regular breast cancer screening and examinations, and significance of supporting women in our families and community.

Moreover, this event gets our strong support because it promotes the Body Buster approach of exercise being possible for any individual no matter what their fitness level.  The Run for the Cure offers both walking and running options (1 km or 5km) at the event every year, which allows our team members to positively contribute to the best of their abilities both physically on run/walk day and monetarily through any donations raised.

The Body Buster Fitness ‘lifestyle’ focuses on the importance of healthy living, emotional well-being and physical fitness. To gear up for the walk/run we recommend that you continue to attend your regularly scheduled Body Buster Bootcamp classes to maintain and improve your fitness level as you prepare for your 1km or 5km walk or run.  Additionally, we’d love for you to go for a walk or run at least once a week over the next 2 weeks leading up to October 6th! I joined Body Buster Fitness at a very stressful time in my life. I was exiting my business and I needed something to keep me sane during the whole process. Our instructor was great.  On days I just wanted to stay home and lay on the couch after work she encouraged me to get my butt up and get my endorphins going.  Not only did it help with my stress levels it helped with my confidence. The feeling of accomplishment after you finish a workout and watch your progress from class to class is invaluable. The support from the people in your class is great too. I have done many other workout programs in the past and found they became boring and repetitive.  I ended up feeling like just another dollar sign to them. That has not been my experience with Body Buster. They seem to genuinely want you to see results and succeed.

With the Body Buster program I look forward to each class as we are always doing different exercises.
I have been a Body Buster Fitness member for the last three weeks and I love the program. I plan to continue being a Body Buster member!
 
What I like most about the Body Buster Program is the support that is given to work hard and do our best.  I also love the personal attention that each person receives. I have learned how to properly use weights and what areas on the body that the exercises target
 
In the last three weeks I have lost almost 6 pounds but the biggest difference I have noticed is muscle toning and of course I am so much stronger already!
 
I have tried going to the gym but found it so boring and not motivating. With the Body Buster program I look forward to each class as we are always doing different exercises-  it never gets boring! I also love the fact that I can run up a flight of stairs without being winded. I have become addicted to working out – I love how I feel after!
 
I feel so much better overall. I love feeling more toned and healthy but the biggest change I’ve noticed is how much stronger I feel. I have found now that I am noticing huge changes I want to keep eating healthy and working towards my goals if being toned and fit.
 
I feel I have gained more of a work ethic when working out. By noticing a difference in my body already it has motivated me to attend every class and push myself more and more. After being able to run the 1km run I felt so proud of myself – something I know I couldn’t do without Body Buster.
 
Give it a try! I was nervous about attending my first class as I have never tried a boot camp program but I am so glad that I did. The Body Buster program is nothing like the gym. It provided way better results and most of all it’s a fun supportive environment!

I started attending Body Buster classes in the spring of 2009.  The aspect of the Body Buster program that I like most is that no class is exactly the same as the last.  Each workout (morning or evening) and each instructor is unique.  The instructors bring an individual style and flare to each workout.  I'm never bored during my time working out in a Body Buster class.  I also like the fact that the instructors get to know your strengths and weakness and push you to improve on a personal level. 
Even though I'm in a large group exercise class I feel that the workout is tailored to my abilities by the use of various modifications available in each exercise and how the instructors push me to keep the intensity in my routine.  By participating in the exercise program provided by Body Buster I have been able to maintain my healthy body weight and lose a few extra inches off my waist. 
My wife (Annette) and I have chosen to continue to be Body Buster members because of the flexibility the program, she and I alternate four week program so both of us can benefit from the program as we have a young family and the Body Buster staff have always been accommodating to our special needs.  We also continue to come back to Body Buster because the locations and times of the classes fit well with our busy lives balancing work, kids and personal time.   In terms of overall health, working with the Body Buster program has provided me the ability to regain a level of overall vitality that I had lost since my mid-twenties.  I'm in the best physical shape since then and I know I have the means and ability to maintain and improve my overall health looking to the future. 
I have gained many things from being a Body Buster member.  I have gained new confidence in controlling my overall health, new friendships and Annette and I have gained the ability to be role models for our children on how to maintain a health and active life in this age of sedentary lifestyles. 
Anyone thinking of becoming a new Body Buster member should know that taking part in this program can be life changing.  The Instructors care about your health and progress, there is a very personal touch to their training.  You will see results in your overall strength and endurance, even at the end of only one session and that like anything in life you get out what you put in.  The more you put into your Body Buster experience the more you will get out of it.

The Exercise Ball

A primary benefit of exercising with an exercise ball as opposed to exercising directly on a hard flat surface is that the body responds to the instability of the ball to remain balanced, engaging many more muscles.
